At 1042 AM, National Weather Service radar detected scattered
showers and thunderstorms, some with heavy rain generally in
southeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. They were most widespread
and heaviest in Leflore and Pushmataha counties in Oklahoma and
Sebastian county in Arkansas. The precipitation was in the Fort
Smith area. Movement was to the south at around 30 mph. The average
amount where it rained last hour was around one half of an inch with
maximum amounts of two to two and a half inches. Coverage and
intensity decreased during the last hour. The Tulsa area forecast
for late this morning and into this afternoon, mostly sunny,
temperatures 70 to 77 increasing to 80 to 91 degrees with southwest
winds 5 to 10 mph.
