At 728 AM, National Weather Service radar detected a large area of
showers and thunderstorms, some with heavy rain generally north of a
Tulsa to Fayetteville line. They were most widespread and heaviest
in Ottawa and Mayes counties in Oklahoma and Benton county in
Arkansas and was more widespread in southwest Missouri. The
precipitation was in the Tulsa and Bentonville, Rogers and
Fayetteville areas. Movement was to the south at around 30 mph. The
average amount where it rained last hour was around one quarter of
an inch with maximum amounts of an inch and a half to two inches.
Coverage, and intensity increased during the last hour. The Tulsa
area forecast for this morning, mostly sunny, occasional showers and
thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms may be severe .
