DISCUSSION...
A weak frontal boundary will slowly advance southward through the
area today. Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms are
expected to form in the vicinity of the frontal boundary. A few
storms may become strong or marginally severe, though severe
thunderstorm probabilities are low.

Hot and humid conditions will occur along and south of the
frontal boundary this afternoon, where heat indices are expected
to climb above 105 degrees through the early evening hours. The
warmest heat index values will be across southeast Oklahoma and
west central Arkansas.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
Widespread dangerously hot and humid conditions will quickly
return through the first half of the upcoming week. Thunderstorm
chances increase again just in time for the Independence Day
holiday and will persist into next weekend.
