SEVERE THUNDERSTORM. RISK...Limited. AREA...Mainly Northwest Arkansas. ONSET...This Afternoon. HEAVY RAIN. RISK...Limited. AREA...Mainly Northwest Arkansas. ONSET...This Afternoon. DISCUSSION... A cold front is moving through the area, with somewhat cooler and drier air behind it. A few thunderstorms are forming along and ahead of the cold front. This cold front will move through northwest AR and southeast OK for the remainder of the afternoon and evening. As the afternoon progresses, there is a marginal (5%) chance that a few borderline severe storms could develop over northwest AR. These same storms could result in some locally heavy rainfall. SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT... Local Spotter Activation May Be Needed. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday. MONDAY...No Hazards. TUESDAY...Thunderstorm Potential. WEDNESDAY TO SATURDAY...No Hazards. EXTENDED DISCUSSION... Quiet weather is expected Monday with below normal temperatures and drier air in place. A few storms may occur Tuesday as another system moves through the area, but we will quickly dry out by Wednesday. For the rest of the week and into next weekend temperatures will warm and humidity will return but any rainfall will be limited.
