...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHERN DUNN...NORTHWESTERN
MCLEAN AND SOUTH CENTRAL MOUNTRAIL COUNTIES THROUGH 445 PM CDT...

At 416 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8
miles south of Van Hook Park, or 34 miles south of Stanley, moving
northeast at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.

Locations impacted include...
Van Hook Park, Skunk Creek Bay Recreation Area, Parshall Bay
Recreation Area, Pouch Point Recreation Area, and Fort Berthold.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

If on or near Lake Sakakawea, get out of the water and move indoors
or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles
from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not
be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
