There could be a weak northerly push 10-12Z, so added a variable wind group. General wind direction for Thursday will be west-northwest, but at generally weak speeds. With speeds being light, could see some variability in direction through the afternoon. Scattered thunderstorms are expected to form and track eastward across the area after 21Z. Gusty outflow winds will likely produce wind shifts. Thunderstorm coverage may be less than Wednesday due to the downslope west-northwest wind component. Activity is most prevalent at VTN where OVC100 is noted with -SHRA to the west. For LBF, more pronounced activity is developing just west of OGA/GGF. Thoughts are that this activity may encroach the terminal around 27/08z, but be brief in nature and exit prior to dawn. Possible VCTS/TS at KAMA in the next 1 to 3 hours as there are some back building showers, but for now will deal with that site via amendments. There is the possibility of some low clouds in the 10-15z time period, but again cig/vis restriction confidence not high enough, but MVFR fuel alternate possible with a lower confidence in IFR conditions. From 21z onward, the main focus would be KDHT and KGUY as there`s a chance we could have another round of storms impact the terminals. But that will be noted as we get closer to the 18/00z TAF package, unless confidence increases. Direct hits from the heavier SHRA may produce brief MVFR vsbys overnight just about anywhere. An area of SHRA may persist over the northern high terrain after sunrise before evolving into TSRA again after 1pm. Other high terrain areas will see SHRA/TS redevelop around 11am then move eastward into nearby valleys and highlands thru the late afternoon and evening hours. Some of this activity may be strong with hail, high winds, and torrential rainfall. Direct hits will be capable of producing brief IFR.
