The combination of seasonable temperatures in the mid to upper 90s with high humidity, likely the result of remaining moisture percolating from farms following last week`s rains...has brought heat index, or apparent temperatures, to between 106 and 110 as of 3 PM this afternoon. On occasion, the heat index has popped up to between 111 and 113, but subsequently dropped back to 110 soon after. These conditions will continue through 6 PM before lowering temperatures bring heat index values to between 100 and 105. Persons outdoors should continue to drink plenty of water before, during, and after activities and take frequent breaks in shady spots late this afternoon. Similar conditions are expected each afternoon through at least Friday. Should forecast temperatures increase while humidity, measured by dewpoint, remain higher than forecast, Heat Advisories may be required. $$ 52/BSG
