.DISCUSSION...

A series of weather systems will bring periods of showers and
a few thunderstorms to central and southeast IL today through
Tuesday morning.  Rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are forecast
by Tuesday south of I-72 with locally higher amounts possible
south of I-70, with generally a half to 1 inch north of I-72.
Poor ventilation rates are expected through Monday due to low
mixing heights combined with modest transport winds. A cold front
will gradually push southeast across the area this afternoon and
evening, shifting south to southwest winds to a northerly direction
by tonight over the area.
