.NOW...
Through 700 pm, scattered showers and possible isolated embedded
thunderstorms will wax and wane across the island chain and adjacent
nearshore waters, as well as in the Straits of Florida between
Carysfort Reef Light and Elbow Cay. Movement of this activity will
be slow and erratic but will generally move to the southeast.
Mariners encountering the strongest activity can expect bouts of
moderate to heavy rainfall reducing visibilities below 3 miles, wind
gusts near 20 knots, and possibly a rare cloud to surface lightning
strike. Select island communities can expect up to one quarter of an
inch of rainfall, mainly between Cudjoe Key and Boca Chica as well
as between Long Key and Ocean Reef.
