...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...

  Open Waters from Winthrop Harbor to Michigan City out to Mid
Lake...

At 219 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots and potentially waterspouts.
These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 26 nm
east of Winthrop Harbor to 14 nm east of Wilmette Harbor to near
Harrison-Dever Crib, moving east at 5 knots.

Strong thunderstorms will remain over mainly open waters.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until these storms pass.
