...Discussion from Monterey...

Expect a warming and drying trend to start today, with high
temperatures averaging anywhere from 5 to 15 degrees above average
for areas away from the immediate coast. Winds speeds are expected
to stay below critical criteria, but hot and dry conditions will
present an increased threat of grass fire ignition, especially on
Tuesday afternoon. Otherwise, morning humidity recovery will be
good to excellent across most areas, with the exception being
across the higher terrain of the Santa Lucia Range where RH may not
rebound much above 45 to 50 percent.

Note : All winds are 20-foot Winds Unless otherwise specified.
Thunderstorms imply strong, gusty and erratic winds.

...Discussion from Los Angeles/Oxnard...

...INCREASED RISK OF LARGE GRASS FIRES ACROSS THE ANTELOPE VALLEY
TUESDAY DUE TO GUSTY ONSHORE WINDS WITH WARM AND DRY CONDITIONS...

...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS POSSIBLE FOR SOUTHERN SANTA
BARBARA COUNTY FRIDAY NIGHT INTO SUNDAY NIGHT DUE TO POTENTIAL GUSTY
SUNDOWNER WINDS WITH WARM AND DRY CONDITIONS...

The deep marine layer in place this morning will become more shallow
today and tomorrow, decreasing the coverage for stratus each day
and allowing a warming and drying trend across the area through
Tuesday. Onshore flow will be the weaker today bringing gusts of
20 to 30 mph across the Antelope Valley, then increase Tuesday with
gusts of 25 to 35 mph common and local gusts to 45 mph across the
western Antelope Valley Foothills. While not occuring the same time
as the peak in winds, humidities will trend drier each day through
Tuesday with minimum humidities of 10 to 25 percent across the
Antelope Valley decreasing to 8 to 20 percent on Tuesday. Gusty
onshore winds with warm and dry conditions combined with the dry
fine fuels, an increased risk for large grass fires will continue
across the Antelope Valley Tuesday.

Elsewhere and otherwise, mild onshore conditions are expected
through Thursday with no significant fire weather impacts are
expected. Temperatures will likely increase across the interior
today into Tuesday, then cool Wednesday into Thursday as a cutoff
low pressure system moves into the region. A warming and drying
trend is then expected to take place Friday into Saturday,
especially across interior areas. A northerly offshore pressure
gradient is possible Friday night into Sunday night, which could
generate some gusty northerly winds across wind prone locations. In
particular, gusty sundowner winds with associated warm and dry
conditions will have the potential to bring some elevated fire
weather concerns to southern Santa Barbara county during that time.
