Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...A 29.2 inch low over far-northern Ontario will reach
James Bay by noon. This low is pushing a 29.6 inch trough across
Lake Superior through today. Behind the trough, 29.9 inch high
pressure from the High Plains will extend into the Upper Great
Lakes Wednesday. This high anchors and builds to 30.0 inches
Thursday morning over the Upper Great Lakes. A 29.4 inch low then
tracks across central Minnesota Friday enabling troughing at 29.6
inches over much of Lake Superior Friday afternoon. The low fills
and reaches eastern Lake Superior at 29.6 on early Saturday
morning. High pressure ridging at 29.9 inches shifts over the
Upper Great Lakes Saturday afternoon.
