741 FNUS54 KMAF 190845 FWFMAF Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX 345 AM CDT Wed Jun 19 2024 .DISCUSSION... Elevated fire weather conditions are expected today, mainly over the Presidio Valley and Big Bend Area due to increased 20-ft winds there. Otherwise, relative humidity will be on the increase over the next few days as a tropical disturbance passes through Mexico. This will result in increased chances of wetting rains, mainly west of the Pecos. After Friday, rain chances will be confined to the Davis Mountains and Sacramento Foothills, where wildfires will be possible from lightning. Otherwise, relative humidity will bottom out at 20-52% this afternoon, and 43-99% Thursday. Recovery overnight will be moderate to excellent. && For point-specific forecasts please see the Point Fire Weather Matrix product issued by the Midland/Odessa National Weather Service Office.
