...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN HYDE AND
SOUTHEASTERN DARE COUNTIES THROUGH 345 PM EDT...

At 306 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 8 miles northwest of Avon to 10 miles northwest
of Hatteras Ferry Terminal to 11 miles south of Gull Rock. Movement
was southeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Frisco, Buxton, Hatteras Ferry Terminal, Ocracoke Ferry Terminal,
Ocracoke Lighthouse, and Cape Hatteras Lighthouse.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
