Mississippi Sound... North Mobile Bay... South Mobile Bay... Until 730 AM CDT.... At 557 AM CDT...A line of strong thunderstorms was located along a line extending from near Gaillard Island to Heron Bay to near Petit Bois Pass...moving northeast at 10 knots. Locations impacted include... Gaillard Island, East Fowl River Bridge, Bon Secour Bay, Middle Bay Light, Mississippi Sound East Of Pascagoula, Heron Bay, Point Clear, Weeks Bay, Dog River Bridge, and Central Dauphin Island. The primary threats from these storms are wind gusts up to 30 knots...locally higher waves...and heavy downpours. Boaters should consider seeking safe harbor until these storms have passed. Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the open water stay below deck if possible and keep away from metal objects. Weather conditions support the development of waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous waves and seas. If a waterspout is sighted...seek safe harbor immediately.
