...Forecast flooding changed from Minor to Moderate severity and
increased in duration for the following rivers in Minnesota...

  Cannon River at Northfield affecting Rice and Dakota Counties.

.Additional rain over the past 24 hours will result in a brief
return to moderate flood stage today before water levels begin to
recede on Sunday. The next round of showers and storms arrives
Monday night. This next round could lead to another brief increase
in heights by mid-week.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
  forecast.

* WHERE...Cannon River at Northfield.

* WHEN...Until late Tuesday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 899.0 feet, Laird Stadium at Carleton College begins
  to flood; west gymnasium threatened.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 930 AM CDT Saturday, the stage was 898.9 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 930 AM CDT Saturday was 898.9 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 899.0
    feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage
    Tuesday afternoon.
  - Flood stage is 897.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    899.1 feet on 03/22/2019.
