FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN
National Weather Service Marquette MI
452 AM EDT Fri Jun 28 2024

...Cold front the culprit for wet, windy conditions into the weekend...

.DISCUSSION:
As a cold front approaches from the west and sweeps across the UP by
Saturday morning, southerly winds will increase through this morning
to 15-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph, especially along the spine of
the Keweenaw. With rain overspreading the UP by noon today, minimum
RHs will be in the 70s except for the far east, which could fall to
around 50 percent by the onset of showers. Winds become lighter as
they veer westerly overnight, but west to northwest winds will
increase to 10-20 mph with gusts to 25 mph on Saturday in the wake of
the cold front. While showers will become more scattered to isolated,
minimum RHs will remain around 60 percent and above Saturday.
