...A cluster of strong thunderstorms will impact portions of
southwestern Bonner, northern Kootenai, southeastern Stevens,
northeastern Spokane and southeastern Pend Oreille Counties through
145 PM PDT...

At 108 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7
miles northeast of Chattaroy, or 21 miles northwest of Rathdrum,
moving east at 60 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 30 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Deer Park, Spirit Lake, Athol, Chattaroy, Elk, Mount Spokane, Chilco,
Laclede, Careywood, Blanchard, Granite, Milan, and Bayview.

This includes the following highways...
 U.S. Highway 95 in Idaho between mile markers 441 and 460.
 U.S. Highway 2 in Washington between mile markers 303 and 322.
 U.S. Highway 395 in Washington between mile markers 174 and 181.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
