Rises in small streams. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 858 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Topeka and Pauline. - This includes the following highways... Interstate 70 near mile marker 355. Kansas Turnpike between mile markers 174 and 184. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
