Cloud cover and ongoing showers and thunderstorms are keeping
temperatures along the Kansas border below earlier expectations, and
therefore, heat index values of 105 are no longer expected.

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 107.

* WHERE...In Arkansas, Crawford, Franklin, and Sebastian Counties.
  In Oklahoma, Cherokee, Muskogee, Okfuskee, Sequoyah, Creek, Mayes,
  Okmulgee, Rogers, Tulsa, Wagoner, Haskell, Latimer, Le Flore,
  McIntosh, and Pittsburg Counties.

* WHEN...Until 8 PM CDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses are possible especially impacting
  those not acclimated to the conditions or those performing
  strenuous activities.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.
