A few showers are expected this morning, but an increase in thunderstorm coverage will occur through the afternoon. Lightning and locally heavy rainfall will be the main threats today. The severe threat will be low, but we can`t rule out an isolated severe thunderstorm capable of producing 1" hail and strong wind gusts. Otherwise, light winds are expected outside of any showers/storms with afternoon temperatures in the mid 80s and a heat index in the upper 80s. Any ongoing showers and storms should dissipate near sunset. Wednesday will be slightly warmer with afternoon temperatures in the upper 80s and a heat index in the low 90s.
