At 928 AM, National Weather Service radar detected a large area of
showers and thunderstorms, some with heavy rain mainly in northwest
Arkansas and eastern Oklahoma south of I44. They were most
widespread and heaviest in Crawford, Franklin and Sebastian counties
in Arkansas. The precipitation was in the Fort Smith and
Bentonville, Rogers and Fayetteville areas. Movement was to the
south at around 30 mph. The average amount where it rained last hour
was around one half of an inch with maximum amounts of two to two
and a half inches. Coverage and intensity remained about the same as
last hour. The Tulsa area forecast for late this morning and into
this afternoon, partly sunny, a chance of showers and thunderstorms.
Some thunderstorms may be severe .
