Update... Steady rain will continue to track east this morning per latest radar imagery from KGYX and surrounding network radars. This stratiform precipitation will continue until the midday hours per latest HRRR solution. The precipitation will then become more showery this afternoon with scattered thunderstorms as well. With the low cloudiness and precipitation today, temperatures will not climb much past the 60s in most areas. Prev Disc... A trough will approach the region this morning. Warm air advection with increased moisture in the presence of a vigorous upper level trough will allow for widespread shower activity this morning. By afternoon, pops will be on the downward track however a few thunderstorms may be mixed in as the atmosphere destabilizes. With plenty of cloud cover and the precipitation, temperatures will be on the cool side today. Most areas will remain in the 60s during the day.

&& .SHORT TERM /6 PM THIS EVENING THROUGH 6 PM MONDAY/... The chance for any precipitation will continue to lower tonight. Plenty of low level moisture for today`s showers may allow some patchy fog to form, however a drier westerly flow will develop as well. Overnight lows will be in the upper 40s across the north to the lower to mid 50s in the south. Yet another upper level low pressure system will approach the region on Monday. This will allow for more scattered showers, mainly during the afternoon hours. It will be slightly warmer with a few breaks in the cloud cover. Afternoon highs will top out in the 70s for most areas outside the northern mountains. && .LONG TERM /MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY/... Overview: Unsettled conditions can be expected to last into Tuesday, however most of the scattered showers will be confined to the north. Broad high pressure advances east mid-week, with drier conditions forecast. Another low pressure system may bring additional damp weather for late week. Details: High pressure slides east into Tuesday with mostly dry conditions forecast. There will be another chance of some diurnal showers in the afternoon, but moisture is limited. Some of these may be focused across the mountains where there is another forcing agent in terrain. Wednesday looks similar to Tuesday in the way of afternoon showers. This time comes with more southerly flow to aid in moisture transport. The higher rain chances this week come Thursday into the first half of the weekend. Low pressure skirts north of the Great Lakes potentially bringing a warm sector and cold front through the CWA. This combination of moisture and lift will bring chance of some thunderstorms, but it is too early for specifics on intensity/coverage. && .AVIATION /10Z SUNDAY THROUGH THURSDAY/... Short Term... MVFR to IFR conditions are expected to enter the region this morning as showers move across the region. Improvement is foreseen for later today and tonight. A few scattered showers may occur again on Monday, but this would be mainly in the afternoon and across the northern mountains. Long Term...Ceiling restrictions are possible across far western ME and northern NH Monday and overnight. There may be some fog over the coastal waters that nears coastal terminal like PWM or RKD Tues/Wed. && .MARINE... Short Term...A southwesterly flow today through Monday will remain mostly just below SCA thresholds. Seas may climb to four feet along the outer waters. Long Term...Below SCA criteria. Upper low pressure finally pulls north early this week, with high pressure approaching after. Surface low pressure passes to the south of the waters midweek. Additional frontal systems may move across the waters towards late week. && .GYX WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES... ME...None. NH...None. MARINE...None. && $$ Cannon
