931, 932, 933, 934, 935, 939, 943, 944 AND 946...
.DISCUSSION...A Red Flag Warning is in effect for lightning and hot, dry, windy
conditions for portions of the Interior.
High pressure is effecting much of the eastern interior. A strong
low is approaching the Y-K Delta coast. This will create a
boundary tomorrow. This is where our primary initiater for the
strong thunderstorms tomorrow will be. We can expect strong
scattered thunderstorms from the ALCan border to Point Hope. We
are expecting the thunderstorms in the Forty-Mile country to be on
the drier end. The further west the storms go we should expect
there to be more rain associated with those.
Temperatures will still be in the 80s with minimum RH values in
the 20 to 30% range. Winds will be quite gusty with thunderstorms
could produce stronger erratic winds. We expect Friday to be
similar to tomorrow with the hot/dry conditions. However, winds
will be weakening to below Red Flag Criteria. We expect scattered
thunderstorms Friday evening from Fort Yukon to Arctic Village.
These storms could be high based and dry. However that confidence
is not high.
