...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN BERKSHIRE COUNTY
THROUGH 445 PM EDT...
At 416 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Otis, or 11 miles east of Great Barrington, moving east at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Becket, Otis, Monterey, Tyringham, Otis Wood Lanes, Leisure Lee,
Algerie Four Corners, Bonny Rigg Corners, North Otis, Becket Center,
West Becket, East Otis, and West Otis.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for
western Massachusetts.
