Below normal temperatures are expected across the Northern Plains
today and tonight as cool high pressure builds into the region out
of Canada. Highs today will be in the 60s for most of the region,
except in the lower 70s in parts of southeast Montana and western
South Dakota. It will mainly be dry today, except in northeastern
Minnesota where a few showers are possible. Lows tonight will be
in the 40s to lower 50s across the region.

A warming trend will begin on Sunday as winds become southerly in
advance of low pressure developing in Montana and Wyoming. A chance
of showers and thunderstorms will return to western parts of the
region late Sunday, and spread eastward across the Northern Plains
Sunday night and Monday. Some storms could be severe. Highs will
mainly be in the 70s and 80s beginning Sunday, and continuing
into next week across much of the region.
