.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Saturday...
Gusty showers and storms producing wind gusts up to 50 mph are
possible until early evening. Relative humidities across the region
recover overnight with parts of the high country above 70 percent
and lower elevations near 60-75 percent. A cold front sweeps our
region early Saturday morning increasing northerly winds between 12-
16 mph. By Saturday afternoon, minimum relative humidities remain
above 30 percent and wind gusts continue under 20 mph which should
ease fire weather concerns.
Smoke dispersal conditions reach very good to excellent for the high
country and fair for the plains Saturday afternoon.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Saturday night through Wednesday...
Warmer temperatures and slightly drier Sunday with afternoon
scattered showers and thunderstorms. It will be breezy on the
plains; however, relative humidity stays above 25 percent. Gradual
drying trend expected next week, especially by the end of the week.
Early in the week, there will be afternoon chances of scattered
showers and thunderstorms with min relative humidity values dropping
into the 20 percent range. Relative humidity values trend lower
toward the end of the week with potential for elevated to spotty
critical Red Flag Conditions. Smoke dispersal will be Good to
Very Good on Sunday and Good to Excellent on Monday.
