A strong disturbance and associated cold front will move through the region today. Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms are possible with several storms becoming strong to severe. Strong to potentially damaging wind gusts up to 80 mph and large hail up to 1.5" are possible today along with locally heavy rainfall. Strong northwest winds gusting between 25-40 mph can be expected across much of the area Friday, with higher gusts in the western mountains and foothills up to 50 mph. High temperatures in the 80s to mid 90s today, warmest east of Billings. Minimum RH values will generally be in 30s today with slightly lower values (in the mid 20s) in the southeast. Expect cooler temperatures on Friday, highs in the 70s and lingering moisture keeping minimum RH values in the 30s. A warming trend is in store this weekend, with high temperatures climbing back into the 80s and 90s, with low chances for precipitation.
