Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southeast Wyoming/Western Nebraska
National Weather Service CHEYENNE WY
248 AM MDT Sat Jun 22 2024

.DISCUSSION...

A good portion of the area got wetting rains yesterday, but we will
warm up and dry out for the next several days. The dryline will push
into Nebraska today and hover near the eastern edge of the forecast
area for much of the next several days. As a result, expect near
critical to critical afternoon RH for most of the valleys of the
area. This will last through at least Tuesday, and possibly longer.
Light breeziness will continue through the period, and occasional
gusts over 25 MPH are possible each afternoon, mainly along and west
of the Laramie range. Lastly, precipitation chances will be much
lower for the next several days, but a few isolated thunderstorms
will be possible each afternoon. These storms may bring lightning
and gusty winds, but wetting rains are unlikely. Since fuels remain
non-critical, fire weather headlines will not be issued at this
time.
