S. Drought Monitor, severe (D2) drought has expanded across most of southwest Kansas except for the far southwest and Trego/Ellis counties. Extreme (D3) drought has developed across parts of Rush, Pawnee, Ness and Hodgeman counties. .Precipitation: Precipitation has been 15 to 50% of average over the last 90 days. .Hydrologic conditions: .None .SUMMARY OF IMPACTS: There are ongoing agricultural impacts. The wheat crops have been negatively affected. The rains over the past week have helped in some areas while other areas that missed the rain have deteriorated. .DROUGHT MITIGATION ACTIONS: .None. .LOCAL DROUGHT OUTLOOK: The seasonal drought outlook from CPC indicates a persistence of drought this summer. .NEXT ISSUANCE DATE: This product will be updated Friday 21 June or sooner if drought conditions change significantly.
