The National Weather Service in Dodge City has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Northeastern Finney County in southwestern Kansas...
  Southwestern Ness County in west central Kansas...
  Northwestern Hodgeman County in southwestern Kansas...
  Southeastern Lane County in west central Kansas...

* Until 445 PM CDT.

* At 406 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 15 miles southwest
  of Alamota, moving east at 10 mph.

  THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR northeast Finney and southern Lane
Counties.

  HAZARD...Baseball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be severely injured.
           Expect shattered windows, extensive damage to roofs,
           siding, and vehicles.

* This severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of
  northeastern Finney, southwestern Ness, northwestern Hodgeman and
  southeastern Lane Counties.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
