Today:

A broad zone of showers and storms continues to train over the state
early this morning. While the severe weather threat has waned,
rainfall amounts are starting to stack up with 1 to 2 inches over
portions of central and western Iowa. Up to 3 to 4 inches has
observed over parts of Cass and Audubon counties.

Periods of showers and storms persist through the day ahead, mainly
over central and southern Iowa in the vicinity of a stalled front
over the state. The severe weather risk is low. Temperatures will be
notably cooler than earlier this week with highs in 70, save for far
eastern Iowa which will be in the 80s.

Tonight and Beyond:

Our weather pattern remains active through the end of the week as
high temperatures gradually warm back up to near 90. More showers
and storms are likely Thursday, mainly over the northern half of the
state. Additional storm chances continue into Friday and Saturday.
Conditions look to dry out early next week as above normal
temperatures continue.
