...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT WORTH AND CERRO GORDO COUNTIES
THROUGH 215 AM CDT...

At 148 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 6
miles northwest of Mason City Municipal Airport, or 11 miles east of
Forest City, moving east at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and additional heavy rainfall of
         up to three more inches. At 135am...a 55 mph wind gust was
         recorded at the Forest City airport.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Ponding of water on roadways, low
         visibilities, and rises in small streams and creeks.

Locations impacted include...
Mason City, Northwood, Nora Springs, Manly, Mason City Municipal
Airport, Rice Lake, Clear Lake, Ventura, Plymouth, Fertile, Kensett,
Grafton, Hanlontown, Joice, Rock Falls, Burchinal, Portland, Bolan,
McIntosh Woods State Park, and Clear Lake State Park.

This includes Interstate 35 between mile markers 184 and 218.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

If on or near a lake, get out of the water and move indoors or
inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles
from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not
be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
