Some storms could be strong to severe, especially Tuesday afternoon and evening. There is a Slight Risk, or level 2 of 5, for severe weather across the entire outlook area Tuesday. Main threats will be damaging winds and heavy rainfall, which could support flash flooding. Hot conditions will begin to return Monday, mainly in southeast Iowa and northeast Missouri, where heat index readings may touch 100. Hot and humid conditions are expected for much of the area on Tuesday during which heat index readings could exceed 100, especially along and south of I-80.
