...A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of south central
Mercer, northwestern Warren, central Henderson, north central
Hancock, eastern Des Moines, northeastern Lee and southeastern Louisa
Counties through 615 PM CDT...

At 525 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Carman, or near Burlington, moving north at 45 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could cause minor tree limb damage and blow
         around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects
         is possible.

Locations impacted include...
Burlington, Oquawka, West Burlington, Mediapolis, Dallas City,
Keithsburg, Carman, Gladstone, Rozetta, Oakville, Gulf Port, Iowa
Army Ammunition Plant, Ogle, Kossuth, Lomax, Bald Bluff, Pontoosuc,
Shokokon, Spring Grove, and Kingston.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
