.SHORT TERM /THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT/...
Issued at 444 AM MDT Wed Sep 25 2024

For much of the next week, an upper ridge is expected to be the
dominant pattern over the Tri-State area. The upper low responsible
for the rain a few days ago will be located over the Southern
Mississippi River. The ridge will remain the dominant feature
through Thursday night before a weak trough slides over the
Northern Plains on Friday. The ridge is currently expected to
strengthen over the area again this weekend. Temperatures will
be above normal in the 80s across the area each day. Overnight
lows will likely be in the upper 40s to lower 50s tonight and
Friday night and in the 50s Thursday night.

&&

.LONG TERM /SATURDAY THROUGH TUESDAY/...
Issued at 254 AM MDT Wed Sep 25 2024

For the weekend, fairly benign weather is forecast with the ridge
still over the area. Temperatures are forecast to warm into the mid
to upper 80`s each day. There could be some briefly critical fire
weather conditions in Eastern Colorado on sunday, but looks to be
marginal at best. It`ll depend on how the system to the north
advances and how much it can tighten the pressure and height
gradients over the area.

At the end of the weekend and into the beginning of next week, the
ridge is forecast to break down with an upper low moving through the
Northern CONUS and bringing a cold front through the area. When it
the front does move through, temperatures would likely lower back
into the 60`s and 70`s. Precipitation chances look to be very low
with relatively dry air forecast to remain over the area.
