...ON THIS DATE IN WEATHER HISTORY...

In 1973, 1.15 inches of rain was reported in Goodland, setting the
record for the highest amount of rainfall to ever fall on this day
for the city.  Historically, September 26 is unique to the month,
because not a single storm report of any sort is associated with
this day during any year on record within the entire Tri State area,
despite September being a relatively active month for thunderstorms.
