047 FXUS63 KGRR 160712 AFDGRR Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Grand Rapids MI 312 AM EDT Mon Sep 16 2024 .KEY MESSAGES... - Dry and Warm Weather Continues This Week && .DISCUSSION... Issued at 312 AM EDT Mon Sep 16 2024 Upper level ridging will continue to dominate the wx pattern bringing a continuation of dry and warm wx through the upcoming week with high temps in the 80s daily. An overall medium range guidance consensus suggests that any showers tied to the remnants of whatever becomes of potential tropical cyclone eight will stay southeast of our area as ridging continues to dominate the pattern here. However some cloud cover from this system could move in by Wednesday and Thursday and potentially keep high temps a few degrees cooler than what will be experienced today and tomorrow. The above to much above normal temps will persist right through next weekend with dry wx to continue. && .AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 06Z TUESDAY/... Issued at 136 AM EDT Mon Sep 16 2024 High pressure east of the region will continue to provide a stable east to southeast flow and dry atmospheric conditions through the period. An onshore flow will develop for KMKG once again this afternoon. Patchy fog will develop, but afternoon crossover temperatures do not support it becoming widespread so we kept it out of the TAF sites for now. We will continue to monitor the fog trends through the night. && .MARINE... Issued at 312 AM EDT Mon Sep 16 2024 Tranquil conditions will continue on Lake Michigan through the upcoming week with wave heights of only around a foot or less and offshore winds. && .GRR WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES...
