...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN MITCHELL AND
NORTHWESTERN YANCEY COUNTIES THROUGH 230 PM EDT...

At 201 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from 11 miles east of Erwin to 7
miles northwest of Burnsville. Movement was northwest at 10 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Poplar, Green Mountain, Buladean, and Ramseytown.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Persons in campgrounds should consider seeking sturdy shelter until
these storms pass.
