Breezy south winds were in place along with mostly clear skies. Today, showers and storms will continue across portions of Nebraska and western Kansas before ending mid morning. Expect highs across much of the region to rise into the low to mid 90s, while portions of southeast Colorado and western Kansas hover around the 100 degree mark. An isolated shower or storm will be possible this afternoon across portions of western Nebraska and western Kansas. Otherwise, It will turn quite windy across the region. By this afternoon, wind gusts will range from 28 to 45 mph across the region. The strongest gusts will be across western Kansas and far eastern Colorado. A Red Flag Warning, Fire Watch, and Wind Advisory has been posted for portions of the region, see each headline for additional details. Tonight, low temperatures will range from the mid and upper 50 across western Nebraska and northeastern Colorado, to the low and mid 70s across eastern Nebraska, Kansas and northern Oklahoma. South winds will continue to gust upwards of 25 to 35 mph across much of the region overnight, and higher gusts of 40 to 50 mph possible across portions of western Kansas.
