AMZ400-202115- Synopsis for Altamaha Sound GA to Flagler Beach FL out to 60 nm- 159 AM EDT Thu Jun 20 2024 .SYNOPSIS... Strong high pressure centered off the New England coast will maintain strong onshore winds and Small Craft Advisory level winds and seas through tonight. Coastal troughing that is situated over our local waters will continue to generate occasional fast moving showers and isolated thunderstorms through tonight. Meanwhile, a trough that is generating disorganized thunderstorm activity to the east of the Bahamas will be steered westward, with this feature approaching our local waters late tonight. Showers and thunderstorms will briefly increase in coverage as this trough moves across our region Friday morning. High pressure will then weaken while shifting further eastward over the Atlantic this weekend, allowing for diminishing winds and seas. Prevailing southerly winds are expected by early next week, with scattered to numerous thunderstorms remaining possible as another trough settles over the southeastern states. .GULF STREAM...
