Through 1100 am, scattered showers with embedded isolated thunderstorms will continue to wane in coverage and intensity across the Florida Keys island chain as well as the adjacent nearshore and offshore coastal waters. Movement of this activity will be somewhat chaotic and slow. Mariners encountering the stronger portions of this activity, mainly in the southeastern Gulf of Mexico in the vicinity of L Tower, can expect bouts of heavy downpours reducing visibility and occasional cloud to surface lightning strikes. Island communities may see up to an additional tenth of an inch of rainfall. $$
