.NOW...
Through 800 am, numerous showers with some embedded thunderstorms in
the Straits of Florida and Hawk Channel will move northeast at near
10 knots across the island chain and its nearshore waters. Mariners
encountering the stronger portions of this activity can expect bouts
of moderate to heavy rainfall reducing visibilities to less than 3
miles, wind gusts up to near 25 knots, and occasional lightning
strikes. Island communities may see an additional quarter to half of
an inch of additional rainfall, with some locally higher amounts
possible with stronger showers.
