.FIRE DISCUSSION...

Higher humidity and rain chances will persist through much of the
week. Areal coverage of showers and storms is expected to be
highest today. Southerly to easterly flow will increase today and
Wednesday with sustained winds as high as 20-25 mph and gusts to 35 mph
along the coastal areas. The latter half of the week will feature
slightly drier conditions, but southeasterly flow will persist.


MARINE DISCUSSION:
Winds will remain in the 20 to 30 knot range over much of the waters
today, in response to a broad area of low pressure in the Bay of
Campeche. These winds are expected to persist through the middle of
the week. Some gusts to near gale-force will be possible, primarily
west of the mouth of the Mississippi River. Seas will also build in
response to the strengthening winds with seas of up to 12 feet
expected in the offshore waters today and Wednesday. A gradual
decrease in wind speeds and seas is expected on Thursday and Friday
as the low in the Bay of Campeche moves into Mexico and weakens.
