394 FZUS63 KMKX 210157 GLFLM OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI 857 PM CDT Thu Jun 20 2024 FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan. Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will occasionally be encountered. .SYNOPSIS... Patchy dense fog lingers across southwest portions of Lake Michigan into early Friday morning. Expect light northerly winds over Lake Michigan overnight as high pressure around 30.3 inches meanders over Lake Superior with a stalled frontal boundary sitting across northern IL. Expecting lighter winds to persist through Friday, but will increase and shift southerly overnight Friday into Saturday as low pressure around 29.6 inches develops across the Plains and lifts across the Upper Midwest through the day Saturday. Then expecting a cold front to push across the Lake later Saturday as the low lifts to the northeast and winds turn more west- northwesterly for the end of the weekend.
