...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT CDT TONIGHT...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of north central and northeast Illinois,
  including the following counties, in north central Illinois, Boone
  and southeastern Winnebago Counties and McHenry County in
  northeast Illinois.

* WHEN...Until midnight CDT tonight.

* IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 854 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms
    producing torrential rainfall. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
    has fallen with these storms.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are expected over
    the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
    Multiple automated weather stations have recorded between
    three quarters of an inch to nearly an inch of rain in just
    15 minutes!
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Rockford, Crystal Lake, Algonquin, Lake in the Hills,
    McHenry, Belvidere, Woodstock, Huntley, Loves Park, Machesney
    Park, Roscoe, Fox Lake, Harvard, Island Lake, South Beloit,
    Rockton, Marengo, Poplar Grove, Rockford Airport and Cary.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Advisory means minor flooding along waterways and other poor
drainage areas is imminent or may already be occurring. Persons in
the advisory area should use caution and avoid flood waters.
