975 FZUS63 KMQT 161338 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 938 AM EDT Sun Jun 16 2024 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS...High pressure of 30.1 inches over the lower Great Lakes will continue on toward New England today. Meanwhile, a low pressure of 29.2 degrees west of Lake Winnipeg will spin northeast towards northern Manitoba through tonight as it deepens to 29.0 inches. This low pulls a 29.6 inch trough through Lake Superior tonight. Weak ridging of 29.9 inches follows for Monday while a 29.3 inch low pressure moves off the Colorado Rockies into the Northern Plains. The low will track across northern Minnesota at 29.5 inches Tuesday, reaching James Bay Wednesday morning as it pulls a 29.8 inch trough through Lake Superior. As the low lifts northeast, high pressure to 30.3 inches builds over Lake Superior for Thursday and Friday.
