235 FNUS56 KMFR 251045 FWFMFR Fire Weather Forecast for southern Oregon and northern California National Weather Service Medford, OR 345 AM PDT Tue Jun 25 2024 ...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 8 PM PDT THIS EVENING FOR STRONG GUSTY WIND AND LOW RH FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONE 285 IN CALIFORNIA AND FIRE WEATHER ZONE 624 IN OREGON... ...FIRE WEATHER WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING FOR STRONG, GUSTY WINDS AND LOW RH FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONE 285 IN CALIFORNIA AND FIRE WEATHER ZONE 624 AND 625 IN OREGON... ...Gusty southwesterly winds and low afternoon humidity today across Siskiyou County may result in a few hours of elevated to critical fire weather conditions around Scott Valley... .DISCUSSION...A combination of gusty winds and low RH will produce critical fire weather conditions for at least a few hours this afternoon, primarily across northern Modoc, southeast Klamath, and west/southwest Lake counties. While a low probability, generally 15% or less, there is a slight chance of lightning tonight into the wee hours of Wednesday morning over far south and east sections as moisture/instability move northward. On Wednesday, a fire weather watch is in place for far eastern parts of the forecast area for strong, gusty winds and low RH again. Things should calm down a bit with cooler conditions, better humidity recoveries and less wind on Thursday.
