Fire Weather Forecast for southern Oregon and northern California...CORRECTED
National Weather Service Medford, OR
755 AM PDT Tue Sep 24 2024

...Gusty southwest to west winds and low humidity east of the Cascades
Wednesday...

.DISCUSSION...The thermal trough shifts northward and moves
inland today with much cooler temperatures along the Curry coast
and a very hot day for the west side valleys. Some of the usual
hot spots may flirt with triple digits. An upper trough swings
through the PacNW Wednesday with gusty W-SW winds in advance of
the trough from the Cascades eastward. At least a few hours of
windy conditions will also occur in portions of eastern Siskiyou,
Modoc and into Klamath/Lake counties. Expect gusts to 40-45 mph
east of the Cascades in Oregon, focused mainly in Lake county.
MinRH values in the 15-20% range will preclude conditions for a
Fire Weather Watch. Another weak trough arrives around Friday
night.
