Issued by NWS Medford, OR
771 FNUS56 KMFR 232121 FWFMFR Fire Weather Forecast for southern Oregon and northern California National Weather Service Medford, OR 221 PM PDT Mon Sep 23 2024 ...Gusty southwest to west winds and low humidity east of the Cascades Wednesday... .DISCUSSION...Offshore flow of recent days will ease through tonight as the thermal trough along the coast weakens. Coastal areas will be cooler Tuesday, but inland areas will be very warm to hot as the thermal trough moves inland. The main fire weather risk this week will come Wednesday as an upper trough swings through. This will bring gusty WSW winds east of the Cascades in the afternoon/evening with near critical humidity. The front will bring light rain amounts to the coast, coastal mountains and Douglas County. Another weaker front arrives later Friday with very light rain for just the Coos coast. The next stronger front could arrive this weekend with gusty winds possible again east of the Cascades Saturday.
